You do not have a plotter, but I need letters. GPS is good, but you still have letters and during the navigation, tides and currents. Tides and currents in the view of Hudson, in the manner and on the East River, on the other. On the way weight Nantucket our GPS and compass found to differ by 45 degrees. It proved to be a current, the compass showing the direction of the boat and the GPS showed the direction he was moving specifies. Captain Eldridge Tide and current, updated annually, is useful.
A GPS allows you to items of interest and time given the distance and speed, which tells you add where you stand now. A tracer can download graphics to the deep currents, ports, etc., all the tricks you need to find his car, but still have to plot your position. The combo drive is very handy if you cross the coast. When you combine the two, the plotter, and GPS know if you are about to fail!
GPS alone does not give the graphics on the ocean. If I remember correctly, will provide depth to the locator. You are a single screen displays all three. Make sure that you display a.
The GPS is a Global Positioning System, which arise within 3 meters, depending on the drive that you have. Since you can transfer up to a letter and know exactly where you are. A tracer is similar, but has an LCD screen that you need a visual update on the screen, but chips with that the area you intend to buy my travel advice is to stay at a GPS and improved graphics on the high seas, because if you get in it is not necessary!
Listen to the teacher of science .......
Tracer is a digital reproduction of a letter, the GPS makes it a point of moving into e-chart shows where you are ........ is very good, but for three reasons: density (decreases) in water (wet) or electric (battery died)
Make paper maps! Know-how to plot your position ..... Power Squadron or U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary offers excellent courses virtually free use of small boats on salt!
